How can I fix a keyboard that keeps repeating letters?

Since the problem occurs under both Windows and Linux, you have an unknown hardware issue. I am at a loss for anything other suggestions.

It would be interesting to see how a wireless keyboard would perform, either Bluetooth or with a wireless dongle.
