I've thought about cloud computing but it doesn't support linux and ive heard windows vps isnt too cheap, could I use an old laptop or something? I will be having this run months on end

Solution
then azure is your choice. it's MS so of course it has windows vm's

i'm sure others do as well but this is pretty obvious choice. though i don't know anything about pricing

yah i personally have 4 cloud servers running right now and they are all on linux. 1 of them is even a gui that i can remote into which is likely what you want to use as well.

i use digital ocean myself. the cheapest vm you can make is $5 a month if you run it 24/7. not bad if you have a use for it. i run a vpn and pi hole on one $5 vm. your clicker game is likely not gonna have an issue running on the low end vm as well.
