Is there a way to makeSony Wh-1000XM2 headphones work with modern Bluetooth?

I have a older set of wh-1000XM2 headphones that have not been updated in a long while. The Bluetooth seems to not quite work. My phone and computer do find it but it just won't connect. I have tested the connection with my friends phones and it does the same thing. Is there a way to possibly get them to work with modern Bluetooth at all or I'm I stuck with a cord?
