Is there a way to swap an Original Playstation PSU with a more reliable one?

I seem to remember seeing a video or website I cannot find anymore where a guy totally revamped the PSU because the Playstation (Original Gray) PSU had a bit of an issue shutting off or restarting the system at random and was made with outdated parts by today's standards... Does anyone know where this tutorial is?
