So my brothers friend brought an old PC with a dead HDD to me to fix and I assumed it failed from age since the system is from around 2008 and besides the dead HDD it seemed to run fine , so I replaced the HDD installed windows tested it added a stick of ram since it only had 1GB DDR2 and everything seemed OK I used it four a couple of hours to make sure it was fine and I had no issues with it, the guy took it back and around a month later he came back with BSOD and he told me he started having BSOD's the second day he retrieved the PC and he stopped using it altogether a few days later , so I turned it on and the new HDD was dead and I know I was dealing with a bad PSU so my question is:

Is there a way to stress test a PSU so you'll be able to know if it has issues if it turned on and seemed ok ?

Stab it in the pupil. If puss comes out, it's bad.

It would really help to have a PSU tester at this point. Some PSUs will still power on, but will have bad power loads (power good signal). This will definitely kill components.
