Hello

I have a fancy PC monitor which can easily rotate 90 degrees, and I’d like to start using it.

I had read that you can use Windows Shortcuts to easily switch back and forth, but these simply do not work. Someone seemed to think it had something to do with the GPU you own?

I have a Gigabyte 3070 Ti OC Gaming 8GB, other specs in my signature.

Here’s an example of folks saying it doesn’t work for them either…

It’s easy to switch to Portrait, but super dicey and difficult to switch back (as the mouse is all in crazy mode like your brain is fried).

Is there an easier way to switch back and forth regularly without having to roll the dice and waste ages trying to turn it back to Landscape when I’m done in Portrait mode?

I’d definitely prefer shortcut keys or something similar, mouse shortcuts (I have a scroll wheel and side buttons), whatever ?

As a side note: I assume there is no way to make it so that Windows detects when the PC monitor has shifted a full 90 degrees in orientation, and automatically change it like a Tablet/Phone would ?

Thank you for your help

Hey Guys,

I'm still looking for some good advice on this one ?

@KingLoki

The only option that I can see, that might help is this one below... but I just don't understand how it would help, or what exactly it does?

Is this for a PC or a laptop, cause I have a PC ?
Does it create a shortcut?

Is it safe to use, not going to break something?
Anyone try it before ?

Method 4: Edit Windows Registry to Enable Screen Rotation

Hope to hear some more good ideas,

Thank you for your help

Backup the windows registry before proceeding just to be safe. Chances it will cause any problem is very low. The setting is in there as part of windows 11 anyway. Its just the "1" that turns it on and the "0" that turns it off. It can be easily reversed by going back in to the registry and changing the Auto Rotation "Enable" setting as per guide.
