Question Is there any benefit pushing my monitor to 240Hz ?

I have a 1440p 240Hz gaming monitor connected to a Dell G16 7630 gaming laptop. My laptop only has one USB C port with DisplayPort and 1 HDMI out. The specs on my laptop are as follows: intel core i9 13900HX, Geforce RTX 4060 and 64GB RAM. I'm wanting to add additional USB C ports but every device I've found only supports a maximum of 144Hz at 1440p. My question is there really any benefit to me running the monitor at 240Hz especially given the fact that I'm not pushing anywhere near 240fps. I have no issues with tearing at 240Hz or 144Hz but I do want the smoothest gaming experience possible. Any advice by someone more experienced than myself is much appreciated. Thank you.

Well, TBH, the 4060 isn't going to get to 144hz/FPS on most new games, never mind 240.

Are you a pro gamer? If not, why not use Freesync/G-sync, as this will make it very smooth.

Why not try it and see?
I suspect you will notice little, if any difference.
More likely the thermal issues with a laptop will cause you more problems from thermal throttling of the cpu.
