Hi guys,

I have a new intel core i3 7100,
Gigabyte b250m-ds3h,(BIOS version is F6)
RAM CORSAIR vengeance 2666mhz 8GB*1 stick
This ram supports Intel XMP (profile 1)

By default, the BIOS has XMP set to "Disabled", and the RAM frequency is 2133

I changed it to "Profile", and I see that the RAM frequency is now at 2400, the advertised speed of the RAM.

Did I just overclock my system? Will this lower the stability of my system in any way or have any other effects?
Thanks in advance.

The default speed of any ddr4 ram is 2133mhz which is called the "SPD speed",but alot can do higher speeds than that which are the "XMP speeds" (=overclocked). The thing is that your motherboard doesn't support higher than 2400mhz so that's why you get 2400mhz after setting XMP to enabled.
