Is there any way to charge/power a laptop using a traditional powerbank with an adapter? By traditional power bank, I'm referring to the kind of power bank that you might use to charge/power a smartphone. They usually have one or two USB ports and a micro USB port on them.

This adapter would change the voltage and amperage of the powerbank to match the voltage and amperage of the laptop.

In this question, I'm specifically referring to traditional powerbanks and not the much heavier, much more expensive power banks that can be purchased for use with laptops.

Thank you.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I'm not aware of anything off the shelf like that. Sometimes you can buy "bigger" batteries for your laptop that will give you more on time before recharging. In theory, what you're asking is possible, not sure how much time you'd gain from most power banks though. They're meant for a trickle charge again, over USB. I've seen some pretty monstrous power banks though, and I'm sure that they are using something similar like for movies where they have to be on location and there isn't a whole lot of power to be had. I do know you can get a charger for the laptop for the car depending on the laptop. That's a 12v system. Hopefully some one with more knowledge than me will see this and...
Most smart phones power through a USB connect of some sort... so... Possible? Ya. Can you do it/should you do it, probably not. Hit up Amazon for the power adapter that goes to the laptop. If that's the broken part of the laptop, eBay for that part and tear down the laptop and replace it.

Hi. Thank you for your reply.

My laptop isn't broken and my laptop's power adapter is still good, too. What I was referring to when I said "adapter" was something different than the power adapter that goes to a laptop to give it power.

I was asking if there was something that could be plugged into the USB port of a common power bank that could change the voltage and amperage output of said power bank to match the voltage and amperage of a laptop. The laptop would connect to this special adapter (I'm not referring to the laptop's power adapter here) either directly or via the prongs of the laptop's power adapter.

So the way in which this special adapter would be used would look something like this:
power bank ---> special adapter ---> laptop power adapter ---> laptop
