I posted on the last post and most answer came with that there's no major differnce between 1.3 and 1.4. So today i went digging through some cable cabinet and found a hdmi cable. However, I don't know what "version" it is. Just out of curiosity, how do i check what "version" is it? is there a website or driver for that? I don't want to get dvid or dp because my monitor only have freesync through hdmi

I've been going through some website

HDMI cables are just fancy wires, so there's no electronics that would report to software what "version" it is.

Unless there's a model number or label to follow and find the version of HDMI it supports there's no way to know really. Some v1.2 cables for example support enough bandwidth to work as v1.4 cables.

All HDMI cables should support 1080p/60Hz, though again even though v2.0 is listed as the minimum for 4K/60Hz it's possible a lower specced cable would work too.
