Is there still real benefit of having Ramdisk on 16GB DDR 1600 + SSD setup
I know SSD is fast but my Samsung EVO have speed
Read: 540MB/s
Write: 520MBps

But when compare to the DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) speed
Peak transfer rate (MB/s) 12800 MB/s
If create Ramdisk out of those (e.g. 8GB of 12800 MB/s )

-Then move both \TEMP and \TMP folder to the Ramdisk
-Then Use Chrome portable version install to the Ramdisk

-Will it increase a lot of speed ? when browsing ? Youtube ?
What you guys think?

Ramdisk never will transfer at the full speed of your RAM, my DDR3 2400 managed 8GB/s.

The speed increase from the ramdisk will not show any improvement for Youtube loading speeds, browsing, downloads etc, that is based off your internet connection.

Enable RAPID mode on that SSD in the Samsung Magician software. It will cache in RAM, making it about twice as fast.

Sorry that i hadnt replied.
Over provisioning sets aside space on the SSD for the SSD controller to use, allowing it to increase performance. It is also meant to extend the lifespan of the drive.

Pros: it is meant to increase performance and extend the lifespan of the SSD

Cons: it will lower the amount of usable space on the SSD

I dont have any space allocated for it on my 840 EVO, i hadnt really taken any notice of it before you mentioned it.
