Is there such thing as a DVI to HDMI adapter that does 1440p

I bought a new monitor that only has DP and HDMI ports, but my graphics card can only output this resolution through its DVI ports. So the only way i can possibly get this monitor to work is if i can find a decent adapter. Do any of you guys have any experience with DVI to HDMI adapters? I also don't want to be paying an arm and a leg for a stupid active adapter that will become useless to me when i finally upgrade my system. Ive been compulsively doing research for the past day but I cannot find a definite solution; there are always people claiming that the product either does or does not work.

Also, im not really going to be playing much games on this thing for the time being, so I'm not looking to upgrade my graphics card. However I do plan on upgrading my rig sometime in the future, maybe when AMD Zen processors come out.

Some more info:
Ive got a GTX 460 768 MB that has 2 DVI ports and a mini HDMI port which i believe is limited to 1920x1200

HDMI won't support 1440p @ 60z, but both DP and DVI will. If you have HDMI on either side of the cable, it will drop the refresh rate down, which you don't want. Since your monitor will accept DP, and your card will output DVI, the cable I linked will get your signal through unscathed.
