Buy an Antec Earthwatts of at least 380 watts and you're set.

A 500W PSU would be set for 6850 CrossFire if that's your plan in the future.

A low-quality 500W PSU, though, will definitely not be able to handle it. There are a bunch of junk-box "500W" things out there for $20 that'll burn out right away. What are the model and manufacturer of the PSU you're thinking of?
