I didn't know monitors go higher than 1080p (well besides the 4k). Im probably gonna buy it from him since the current monitor I have is pretty bad and old :( But what are some specs to look for in a monitor for the future when I buy a second monitor that makes it good? In the future Ill probably use the monitor I buy from him as the side monitor for browsing while im in game or something.

Your monitor should match your build eg its no good having 4K unless you have a super high end PC.

Or say a gtx970 for a 1440p screen

Less than that, then go with 1080p

The size depends on how much room you have on your desk and how far back you sit from it.

For gaming you want low response times eg1 or 2 ms (TN screen). For graphics work, most people want an IPS screen that has a 5ms response.

Then its nice to get a monitor with ports that match your graphics card. And of course it depends a lot on your budget.

Ah okay I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure on what those abbreviations mean (eg, ms,ips) I'm pretty clueless when it comes to monitors
