Okay so this is my build, what can i do to improve upon it? my budget is $1500. This will be used mostly for gaming. and what should i downgrade. please explain WHY!

throw in a ssd and your golden,,, (just for the operating system)

Get 8gb of am instead of 16, 8gb is fine for gaming
get a cheaper motherboard, like the msi gaming 5
get rid of the i7, change it to a i5, only get i7 if you render vids or do 3d work, i5 will be enough for your needs
use the money you saved to get a 780 ti or 780

You've spent too much money on things that don't affect your gaming performance, if your build is just for gaming, I'd suggest you take a look at what i suggested for you as that will actually increase your gaming performance

290x + 256GB SSD and you still have alot more $$ to work with

For gaming, it's always intel if you have the money, not a lot of people amd if they had the choice to go intel, like 99% go intel if they had the choice

Basically going to agree with what has already been said,
1) get an SSD to run the OS off of
2) You dont really need an i7 for gaming, an i5 will do the same job
3) Get a better graphics card, personally I would go for a 290x although they are more expensive.
4) You have too much RAM maybe 12gb could be justified but I think that 8 is more than sufficient
