Making a office computer that will also server as a browser and video streamer. The main thing to know is that it is NOT a gamer.

Give me your opinion. I expect this to still be good for at least 5 years. Theres a few other parts I need but these are the critical ones I need reassurance on.

Thanks.

Generally looks OK to me.

Your motherboard will accept an NVME drive instead of a 2.5 inch SSD if you want to do that, but nothing wrong with a traditional 2.5 inch SSD.

Is that RAM found on the motherboard's official qualified memory list? If it isn't, it may still work fine. Do you need RGB RAM at all?

Not sure about that power supply. May be fine if you need to watch the budget. 450 watts should be enough, but I don't know about the quality.

No mention of necessary parts like a case.

You don't need to put a 550 motherboard with this processor that supports PCI_E 3.
Change the motherboard to a relatively cheap 650, with an 8700G processor and DDR5 RAM and Nvme disk

I can go with a better RAM after the final motherboard decision is made.

I will do a re-look at power supplies.

I see in the manual https://gzhls.at/blob/ldb/5/1/0/5/a3fb78e4b445083ba43941f0c81eb99ea90d.pdf that this motherboard is only for use with Windows operating system (page 43). I never knew that a motherboard was operating system specific. Never ran into that before. I use Linux. Is this true that I can not use linux with this?

You know what... would you recommend a cpu, motherboard (for ATX case) and memory for me in the same basic price range or there abouts. I prefer onboard graphics and audio. I'm concerned that this is beyond my pay grade to sort through all the options. Or am I just being paranoid?

I also never have used UEFI. I have always had BIOS. I prefer to stick with BIOS but I can venture into UEFI if nessessary

Is something like this within the budget?

Reduce from somewhere else and go with the 8700G which has the best graphics of all.

You really dont want to reduce other parts much more than this, though it can be done...

This is as cost reduced as I would be comfortable recommending for an 8700g, though you lose guaranteed EXPO compatability with the RAM, a slightly worse PSU, a much worse case, and a cheaper quality motherboard.
