It basically says you need a good CPU, GPU (graphics processing unit) and HDD (hard disk drive). If you tell me a budget i can look for a pc that is prebuilt to a standard you could record or if you are confident build it yourself, (i would supply a parts list)

"I recently built my nephew a PC to do just that, well... FRAPS on lots of different games but minecraft is one of them. However he cant seem to get more than 40FPS in mincraft WHILE recording. I think the problem is writing to the disk.

Here are the parts I used (the ones I remember):

Western Digital WD Black WD5003AZEX 500GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Rosewill 10" Serial ATA III Red Flat Cable w/ Locking Latch Support 6 Gbps, 3 Gbps, and 1.5 Gbps transfer rate Model RCA-RU-10-SA3-90-RD
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - CPU Cooler with 4 Direct Contact Heatpipe
2x CORSAIR XMS 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M1A1600C11
Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

I donated to him an old 650 watt PSU, a used 250GB 7200 RPM HDD, Lian Li case and my old 460GTX video card.

We overclocked the CPU to 4.2GHZ just my stepping up the multiplier.
We need to get him a better GPU as the gtx 460 just barely cuts the mustard. Get yourself a GTX 760 2gb or better and you'll be happy!
the memory that came with the bundle above is sub par but its not a performance deal breaker.

At any rate, we have the OS installed on one HDD and he installs everything else he can to the second HDD (including were he configured fraps to write to)

the problem with FRAPS is that it is a big piggy with I\O to the disk.
the problem with Minecraft is that it runs on JAVA so its almost entirely CPU bound (thus you want to OC your CPU if possible)

If you want to RECORD minecraft up around 60FPS you are going to need to get two additional hard drives and put them in RAID 0. Then have FRAPS
record to that raid drive. I found a freally awesome video on youtube where they benchmarked this but I cant seem to find it.

At any rate... the above build works great for him but you'll need to add a PSU, case, video card and a dvd player to the above build as I didnt list them

the trick with FRAPS will be to record to a dedicated hard drive, the faster the better. Hope this helps some."
