There is also an ssd which I don't usually in console killer builds and there is os, keyboard, mouse and an optical drive.

It is the GPU that matters most 270X is a reasonable card but really if you want top of the line for 1080P then GTX970 would be the best choice.

I already have a PC, this is for a friend.

It will play everything at 1080P not everything on max settings though. For the price you can not build any better.
