I want to build my own game PC but I don't know if I have the right components to be worth it.

the components I thought I would get are:
i7 4790K
asus z97 Pro Gamer
msi gtx 980
16 GB Ram
samsung evo 850 120GB
2TB HDD
Thermaltake Commander ms-i
Cooler Master V Series V850
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

all replies are appreciated!

Solution
if you're just gaming and not video editing like doing youtube or using something like autoCAD then its best just to stick with an I5 4690k
asus z97 pro gamer is overpriced, you can get similar performance for a better price with the msi gaming 5 z97 motherboard
8GB of RAM is enough
as for storage, generally I say get a 3TB if you're getting more than one, its just better $ per GB and a good one is like $95.
cases are relative to preference - if it were me I'd look up the phantom 240 or 410 by NZXT, better quality and much better windows. If you want a psu covering window, then check out the fractal design r2 midi or the r4 black bear w/ window, or the nzxt H440.
as a general rule don't touch cooler master psus. They just aren't very...

as a general rule don't touch cooler master psus. They just aren't very good. If you want to be overclockable and SLI ready then check out the rosewill capstone 750W, the EVGA G2 Supernova 750 or 850W or the xfx XTR 750W - they're all gold rated psus and well worth the extra money.
for cooling save a few bucks by picking up the rajintek themis. If you've got extra money then maybe think about picking up the noctua dh-14 or 15.
