Question Is this a good gaming build?

My current build has an xeon w3550 with 12 gb DDR2 ram and a gtx 1050. Will the new build be a considerable jump? Will be waiting for next week to order due to AMD releasing new product with a potential for the older stuff to go on sale/price drop.
I want to game at 1080p med settings with a good constant frame rate.

[SOLVED] - Do I upgrade or start from scratch?

My current build is from 2012 and it is an ex school computer, so lots of hours with original HDD. It has an xeon w3550 (4 cores, 4 threads, 3.~ GHZ), 12 GB 1222HMz RAM, GTX 1050 2GB and a 500gb 7200 RPM hard drive. Would it be beneficial to upgrade my GPU to an RX 570 *gb, (~250 CAD) and then...

It'd be nice to have kept this to 1 thread as now you are going in a different direction and your budget has doubled. You'd get better options waiting a week or so and seeing what prices are doing with the new Ryzen releases, the only thing that really needs updating is the platform, that means cpu/mobo/ram. Everything else is transferable to the new build. A 1050ti can handle medium settings and still get good framerates in most games, the Rx570 isn't really much of an upgrade there.

New Ryzens and Navi coming on sunday. Just before that is the worst time to upgrade. Expect price drops across the board.
