I would like to know if these specs can be good for a gaming pc. I am really new at this and i want to build a good gaming pc that is preferably better than the ps4 specs and will last me a few years without upgrading anything. Also, the link is here:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7782889&sku=B69-1560

I am grateful for any additional info you guys could provide, for ex, how much will a pc cost minimally that will beat the ps4 or xbox720 specs and last about 1-3 years more with any new games on at least medium-high settings.

Solution
Hey, you could always start. 2 months ago, I didn't know a thing about computers. Now I'm a forum regular here. Buying my own build in 3 weeks, so I had to tweak to perfectness. Anyway, here's the final build, nothing changed.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($134.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.98 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung...

Agree on both.
But they can use it that good to make thing thats weaker than i3 to be as good as i5.

I would add for workstations too but yes your right.

The fans you had were at best medico and since you're going for a high end build why ruin it with a bunch a cables lying around that you don't need? Semi modular/modular PSU are a lot cleaner looking. (Yes there is $75 on fans but you get what you pay for). Or you could go with Corsair AF120 Performance Edition and use the fan speed reducer that comes with them.

Ive seen Arctic Cooling Arctic F8 TC, 80 mm doing some good stuff but a lot 120mm ones are better. Sams are for extra high end with awesome OCing and titan tri SLI... Its fine with your current ones :)

Expensive motherboard, the regular p8z77 will do you fine. Or the extreme4. With the saved money, get an HDD and a better case. Or downgrade your PSU, modular is not a must. You can tie the cables at the bottom, and won't cause trouble. A little messy cable management isn't going to hurt you. For the RAM, get low profile heat spreaders, it is more comfortable if you have a CPU cooler.

Alright, i can change that to a extreme 4 or a p8z77 and i have yet to decide which. What do you think of the Gigabyte z77x ud3h? I am thinking of getting the NZXT Source 210 Elite. I was going to get the Mushkin but it will not fit with the EVO. I decided to go with this one. I am getting the Hyper 212 EVO. Modular seems easier to install, but if it gives me a boost in other areas, i will switch to a non-modular but i got the modular as the price is basically the same after rebates. What RAM should i change it to? I have found the hdd too. Check out the updated build. The link is the same.

You have no real need for a Corsair HX650, it's damn expensive for what it is. Don't cheap out on the case, you're buying a high end gaming rig, don't put it in a crappy $40 case.

The fans in the R4 are very good anyway so no need to replace them, just ad one AF140, low profile memory to help everything fit, a cheaper semi-modular PSU, the only cables that aren't modular are the once that you're defiantly going to be using.

Wow, i guess that build does it pretty good. I'll just save that. I am going to ask around if the fan and r4 are better than a 210 and 3 fans. I dont think the 210 would win, but it never hurts to make sure. I am not that picky on a modular or non-modular so thats fine. Thanks. I had a passing question. Which one is better? A fx8250 with a 780 or a 3570k with 770 and i am talking about computing performace as well as graphics. Which one would benefit me more?

Now that is a hard choice, personally I would go with the 780 the "Baby titan" and a CPU that is at maximum 10fps slower than the 3570k than a slightly better CPU and a worse GPU.

As for the case, one thing I just found out and I'm really happy about (happy enough to change my decision on my next case) is that Fractal Design use their own retail fans in their cases. The fans you get in the R4 are SILENT SERIES R2 140MM (http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&category=4&prod=79) which you can buy off Amazon and are really good (66 CFM @ 18.5 dBa) in fact that's Noctua good.

The 780 has 15% more performance for $250. Do you think that's worth it?

The 3570k has 14% better single core performance and is 3% slower using all cores, for (including AM3+ motherboards being cheaper) about $55 more, is that worth it?

Yes (its less than 55$ but still)

The 780 has 15% more performance for $250. Do you think that's worth it?
No.

See, it's all just opinion based when it comes to this, personally I'd rarther have a FX 8350 and a GTX 780 but that's just me.

I am not getting a 780 and fx. I am going for a 770 and 3570k. But the thing is, i still have the fx and 780 build saved as a partspicker list. Do you think i should buy it instead of the 770 if it drops to be under the budget or close to it? or do you think i should take the 770 and 3570k at a lowered price instead? Or maybe put better stuff in the 770 build to get it to match the 780 builds budget?

I am going to check out the fans later.

The fans only that good with the 140mm ones. The 120mm fans fall short of the ones i am currently eyeing.

70 CFm, 20 dB, and only $3.00
Can you beat that value in a 120mm?

Most likely not in most games, but if I could predict the future I wouldn't be posting on Tom's, I'd be on my own private island after winning the Lotto 6 times by predicting the numbers =P

Damn why havent I think of this. I can predict the future and I say that after 387.664 years we wont have the CPUs using "cores" but parallel processing.

Joke but what I really think is that: "Games will be more CPU demanding in the future, but that doesnt mean games will start to favoure either CPU. If AMDs got 8 cores, intel 4 and consys 8 but all are about the same powerfull (consys are half as powerfull but ok) that means that all work that is carried equally on all 8 cores or on the more powerfull 4 cores."
If you dont understand Ill try to explain better, just say.
