Is this a good GPU

I am thinking of buying the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 OC 2GB but is it worth getting the 4GB or is it just a waste of extra money.

You can get GTX 970 for that money. It would be much better choice.
Edit: Ah those are Australian dollars. Then never mind.

Nothing wrong with that card. 4 GB's of VRAM may help in more highly textured games and higher resolutions, but isn't 100 percent necessary. You might want to check out the GTX 1050 and RX 470 when released, they will be in the same price range and should have better performance.

nVidia claim it to be a GTX 980 killer 😀

Even if that's not true the GTX 1060 is definitely going to outperform the 960 in almost every aspect.

Oh but it won't provide support for SLI.

SLI is when you run two graphics cards to increase the performance.

The 1060 will cost about double the 960 cost though, so prob not worth considering.

its a mediocre 1080p gpu, its not bad at all and is a gpu meant for average gaming. I used to have one, I had the 2 gig version, 4 gigs will help in some games and make it more future proof.
