Is this a good setup? (for Planetside2)

Hi, I want to build my own "gaming" computer and I think I've got a good setup selected. All I want to do is play runescape and Planetside2. Obviously, Runescape will be played well with this system; I'm not sure about Planetside2, though.

I am currently using a computer with...

--AMD Phenom x3 8400 2.1ghz AM2+ (locked of course)
L2 512kb x3
L3 2Mb
--800Mhz DDR2 PC2-6400U RAM
-- Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 5450 GPU 1gb overclocked (as much as computer will let me)
--640 GB WD HD 7200 RMP
--Win Vista Home Premium
--ASUSTek NARRA3 Motherboard 2GT/s

In other words....I'm outdated and slow.

This is the setup I'd like to have.

---GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P AMD 760 Motherboard - Micro ATX, Socket AM3+, AMD 760G Chipset, 1333MHz DDR3, SATA II (3Gb/s), RAID, 7.1-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0 (GA-78LMT-S2P)

---AMD FD6100WMGUSBX FX-6100 Processor - Six Core, 8MB L3 Cache, 6MB L2 Cache, 3.30GHz (3.90GHz Max Turbo), Socket AM3+, 95W, Unlocked, OEM

---Thermaltake CL-P0503 CPU Cooler - 70mm Fan, Rifle Bearing, Socket AM2, AM2+, AM3, 754, 939

---Kingston HyperX Red KHX16C9B1R/4 4GB Memory Module - 1600MHz, 9-9-9, DDR3, CL9, 1.65V, Unbuffered

---Toshiba HDKPC03 DT01ACA100 1TB Hard Drive - 1TB, 7200 RPM, SATA, 3.5"

---LG 24X DVD Burner - M-Disc Support, Silent, Jamless Play, SATA Interface, 24x DVD-ROM Transfer Rate, 48x CD-ROM Transfer Rate (GH24NS95B)

---Thermaltake VM54521N2U V2 ATX Mid -Tower Case - ATX, Micro ATX, 450W PSU, 3x Ext 5.25", 1x Ext 3.5", 6x Int 3.5", 2x Front USB 2.0 Ports

I'm almost positive it's enough for my needs, at least for a year or too. I don't play any games like Crisis or COD. Just Runescape and Planetside2.
I want Planetside2 to run very well, doesn't need max settings but I'd like to have at least 30fps in a big battle. With my current, 5 year old setup i cant even function, even with a game booster.

Also, I'm kinda on a budget as a 16 year old kid haha. That's why I went with AMD

Will this motherboard be nice? What about RAM and CPU?

I know I'll need a GPU and my current Radeon HD 5450 may be the slowest component in my new setup but I may upgrade later; you can give me some suggestions on the GPU as well. Thanks! 😀

EDIT: here's a link to the barebone kit on tigerdirect.

Well I don't have a lot of time for gaming, I just would like to play Planetside2 with a couple of my friends. I guess I could check the game out.

Max budget will be $400. I know that's kinda low but I can do something with it.

Budget $400
Oh yeah just looked the FX 4300 up, L2 and L3 both 8mb and faster clock to begin with. Is it true quad core or is it dual with 4 threads? I've heard the FX 8 core's not really 8 core, yet still nice.

Hmm. I could do that, the kits from tigerdirect don't offer FX-6300 until the other components get more expensive. I could just get the 6100, sell it and get the 6300 or 6350

Well as for Planetside, I ran it on medium 75% render quality with a 5450, I now have a 7750 and I run it on high at 85% render with 30-45 fps. Planetside 2 is EXTREMELY graphics intensive. The 7750 is cheap and can get you up to a playable setting that looks fairly decent.

Thanks for the GPU suggestion! I was actually looking at a 7750 1gb GDDR5 with a 5000mhz memory clock for a little over $100.

I have a 7750 and I run at 100% render quality with everything else on low or off. Though I have actually set the game to ultra and high settings and got playable FPS(10-30). My CPU massively bottlenecks me though, and sometimes the in-game bottleneck reading is inaccurate(atleast I think so). On low I can get 50-60 FPS and sometimes the bottleneck indicator will say my bottleneck is GPU at 10 FPS! Obviously incorrect because it only happened in big battles and the detail I saw on my screen during those frames wasn't very high. This means that my 10-30 FPS on ultra might have been caused by bad CPU and false indicator reading. Overall, you should be able to get playable FPS on high(not super smooth, playable). I consider anything above 25 FPS to be playable. If it gets below that then it throws off your aim drastically. This doesn't mean that High settings will only allow for 25 FPS though. I haven't tested it recently(within the last month or two) so I'm a little fuzzy on the frame rates I was getting. Since I have a bad CPU I wanted to pull every single possible frame from it as I could so I turned down the graphics settings regardless if it made a big difference. In the long run, it made the game smoother but it didn't really affect how well I played. Two options, super smooth or super graphics.
