Is this a good SSD and HD combo

It's pretty easy with the WDC range, WDC greens are economical drives that switch between 5400rpm and 7200rpm to save power but are generally slow, blue's are just 7200rpm average drives, and black's are 7200rpm more enthusiast drives that are supposed to be faster than the blue's but are actually outperformed by the blue's in some situations, the rest are more enterprise type drives.

It's slightly slower in 4k random read and writes (which from my limited knowledge, random 4k speeds are what provide the really noticeable improvement in OS responsiveness and loading times) but still a really good no frills SSD.

HDDs are HDDs. I have a couple of the Western Digital drives. One "Black" and one "Green". They have been fine. I also have a Samsung and a Hitachi drive. Those are fine, too. Can't tell any difference.

On SDDs, you can get the SanDisk Ultra II 240GB for $99. It's well reviewed, good performance. Same type of chips as the Samsung EVO for about $30 less. You can download a single use license for EZGIGIV, which seems to be one of the better disc cloning utilities. It allows you to clone an existing hard drive and exclude data file from the clone.
