Heya,

I am going to be building a gaming PC soon. I am going with a 9700k/2080 combo in the Corsair 1000D with 32GB of HyperX Predator RGB @3200mhz on an Asus ROG Maximus XI Formula motherboard. I am going to do a custom water loop to cool my CPU and GPU but I don't know much about cooling and noticed that my mobo has a cooling thing on it as well. Is anyone able to help me setup a custom waterloop for my 2080, 9700k and mobo?

Thanks in advance,

just saying, maybe get the new ryzen 7 3800x as it is much quicker then the i7-9700K! And will take advantage of that ram so much more!!

Mainly gaming but with video editing/gameplay recording as well
32GB is slightly overkill for gaming, unless you plan to do minecraft 64 chunk optifine with 4k graphics with 1024x texture pack and heavy shaders. If you plan to do heavy video editing go for the 32GB, but if not just use the money saved from 16gb to make a better cooling system.

I will be running servers and doing a lot of video editing so 32GB is good for me

you made a pcpartpicker list?

No but I know the parts of by heart.
STORAGE - Samsung 860 Evo 500GB $
CPU - i7 9700k $
COOLER - Custom waterloop for CPU and GPU
MOBO - Asus Z390 Maximus XI Formula $
RAM - HyperX Predator RGB 32GB $
GPU - Asus RTX 2080 OC Edition $
PSU - EVGA 850w Supernova G3 $
CASE - Corsair Obsidian 1000D $
CASE FANS - Corsair HD120 x9 $

That is not a good idea to custom water-cool i7-9700K and RTX2080 as they are not top tier components. Custom loop cooling is only recommended after selecting top Tier components. Get i9-9900K and RTX2080Ti and only after that plan on custom loop cooling. If unable to fit in both i9-9900K | RTX2080Ti combo and custom loop components in the budget then obvious choice is to go with more powerful combo over custom loop.

Are you able to wait a couple of months? I would recommend to wait for new ryzen 3800x and new x570 mobos, since they will allow for muuuch higher RAM speeds. 9700K is good for now, but still pretty overpriced imo.
Why do you want to make a custom water loop? Those are only good for very high overclocking etc, and without previous experiences, can be quite nightmareish. I would stick with air cooler with that 9700k, nh15 or dark rock pro 4.

In the end, i would seriously wait for the ryzen 3000 launch.

It will be faster, but how much faster? And how much compared to current / next gen Intel CPUs? All I am saying is you can't make that claim until you see the reviews and/or use the CPU for yourself.
We really don't know if it is faster or not as only comparison we ever got was through AMD using their setup. Have to wait 2-3 more weeks till we get true comparison benchmarks.
