Question Is this a good time to upgrade to Windows 11?

Hello, I am using Windows 10 Professional 64-bit. I am considering to upgrade to Windows 11. Is this a good time to do so?

I am checking with Gigabyte about TPM on my Z390 motherboard. Am I correct that if they included a software/firmware based TPM on my motherboard, it is still better to get a TPM 2.0 card for better security?

it would be an extreme over reaction on Microsofts part to stop updating peoples PC based on it having undesirable effects on some obscure games. I expect there was more to it.

Updates can be disabled. I don’t recommend it but it can be done since I’ve switched to Windows 11 I’ve just left it enabled because it really hasn’t been an issue. I used to disable it and just manually update once a month because I don’t use my computer for anything besides work, but I just leave it enabled now.

I was talking more along lines of the win 11 22H2 update. That one was put on hold.
As for monthly ones, I just get it when its offered. Preview updates seem to cause trouble.

If you buy W11 after it's been updated to 22H2, can you still uninstall 22H2 until you feel it's stable enough?

Highly doubtful.
The system would have nothing to go back to.

You'd have to find an install that was created before 22H2.

Yeah that's kind of what I figured. Was 21H2 the build just prior to 22H2?

yes

its hard to say if the installer on the USB sold by Microsoft have 21H2 or 22H2 on them, it would depend how many they made. I expect they probably sell the old ones until they gone. replacing the install on many thousand USB drives after they are packaged is not worth the money.

Hello, I am ready to upgrade. About a week ago I enabled TPM via the BIOS of my Gigabyte Z390 motherboard. Windows Update showed that Windows 11 is an upgrade option. However, I did not choose it immediately. After 2-3 days, it disappeared.

I just went to Microsoft page to download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant. It showed that my PC is eligible to upgrade but during setup, it stated "This PC doesn't currently meet Windows 11 system requirements" and the reason is "The PC must support TPM 2.0".

Do you know what is wrong?
