Is this a problem? Please read

Hi there.
So, right now I'm not doing anything on my laptop, and the only things running are gyazo, onedrive, my security program, the mousepad driver, the graphics controllers and dropbox.
Apparently, I'm using 3.7 gigabytes of the 8 on my PC. I'm not running any heavy games, or processes, just google chrome; yet my processor is "Utilizing" 50%, my fan is running loud and my D: drive is 90% "active time". What is happening to my computer?

Oh yeah and my laptop is an ASUS K501UX, which from what I've read has a bit of a noisy fan problem. Looking for an answer to that too.

As a first guess, Chrome is a likely culprit

Open resource monitor, found in performance monitor. It will show all processes and the % of use they are using. Look for anything with high % as your culprits.
Might be a windows upodate...They don't do a good job of letting you know when they are installing an update, which could result in 100% drive use (although normally on the system drive).
