I had been using an ASUS M4N68T-M LE V2 motherboard which had a PCI-E 1.0 slot and Hypertransport capability of 2000MT/s. Today i purchased an Gigabyte 78lmt3-s2pt which has PCI-E 2.0 and Hypertransport capability of 4400MT/s accd to its manual and 5200MT/s according to its website.

I use an AMD Phenom II X4 925 @ 2.8GHZ and an ASUS HD7750-1GD5-V2 graphic card.

Will I see an performance gain?

Your PCI-E x16 slot is PCIE 2.0 That's been the standard since about 2007 and is included in the nForce 630 chipset. I'd doubt you'll notice much of a difference.

What about HT? My old board had HT V1.0, new one has HT v3.0


AMD started supporting PCIe 2.0 with its AMD 700 chipset series and nVidia started with the MCP72.(nForce 700 series and above)

With that low end of a video card your not really going to see any difference it's not able to saturate a 1.0 slot.

Sadly I have seen that there is no performance gain yet. Which Video Card would make a difference ? Would my CPU bottleneck a GTX 750 ti or GTX 950/960 ?
