So i want to buy a rx 480 8GB 1345mHz and i have a corsair VS450W psu with 2x6 pins. Now some people say that you should have min. have 500W. So what about just about adding ANOTHER PSU for the GPU (I have lots).

Ps. kinda like what Austin Evens did in scrapyardwars.

😀

Solution
Adding another power supply is not advised at all.

First of all you have to make your own circuit in order to turn the second power supply on immediately when the primary turns on so that your bios sees and recognizes your card.
Then you got the fact you now have to have your window of your PC
Not to mention you have a second PSU with its own EMI and grounding and that could inevitably lead to damaging your parts.

Bottom line, instead of ghetto rigging the crap out of your PC, save up and do it right.
It is not saving money if you wind up damaging several hundred dollars in parts.

But i don't have the money for it...
And please don't call me "mate" it that way, it makes me look like a stupid little kid... Which i'm not.

I'm sorry, I meant it as "friend" adn nothign more.
Also, i second what was posted above.

So what series of psu would you say i should buy?

The cost of getting a good GPU includes the cost of supporting hardware like the PSU. If you cant afford the PSU then you cant afford the GPU.

Just because you can afford the car payment does not mean you can afford the car, there is also gas, insurance and maintenance.
