Additional Comments: My friend's 10 yrs old pc is too slow to do anything. His budget is around $250. it can be a pc or laptop. the laptop will need to be at least 14"+. I've tried to build him one for $300 but he thinks it is over his budget. he wants to keep it between $200-$250 ideally. I'm hoping one of you can find an awesome deal that suits him.

he has an old pc correct? use the case if it isnt a mini tower or something, and depending on the power supply and the hard drive's interface (IDE, ATA, SATA, etc) he might be able to re use that as well. i think you can find sata-to-ide converters for fairly cheap on the internet but it wont be as fast as an actual new hard drive, but he will have all his files, you can change the OS to a newer one if you want, and it will save a lot of money on a hard drive.

alo if you look into AMDs APUs you MIGHT be able to save some money if you get a cheap motherboard, even though the cheapest apu is 60-70$, its should be okay if you dont buy a new case and hard drive and maybe power supply since they shouldnt need more than 3-400W if you dont get a discreet graphics card, and the built in is much better than that of the ones in celerons.
