Is this build good or can it be optimized?

So decided to build a new system for gaming rather than upgrade my old one, I had a friend help me out pick some parts for it, we came up with this list- http://pcpartpicker.com/list/nwLdD8

I mainly play Guild wars 2, Overwatch, Starcraft 2, with my old build I ran them all at low-med settings at 1600x900. I want to be able to play at high-ultra at 1920x1080 maybe even add a second monitor when the time comes.

Do the parts that we picked work well together? or are there parts that are better optimized?

Solution
Get a bigger mobo with more options. Cheaper and faster RAM. Better quality PSU and semi-modular. Here is what I suggest.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($198.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($82.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($66.54 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Seagate 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive ($87.98 @ B&H)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GAMING Video Card ($249.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case ($64.99 @ SuperBiiz)...

Total: $816.36

Also, I suggest getting a SSD and HDD separately.

Is there a big difference in getting them separately? What would you recommend or do any ssd and any hd work?

OP doesn't need Z170, but for the same price as lower feature mobos...get it. Usually the H170 is enough, but why not get a Z170?

Faster RAM is not really noticeable for OP but it is cheaper than the one selected in build. And it is made by solid company. Win win.

As for PSU. I had a non modular PSU and cables were a pain in the rear. I then got a semi-modular one and I love it. It is so much easier to deal with cables and get rid of ones you don't use.

The best combo for 2016 is a SSD for OS and applications. Then a HDD for games and everything else. When I went from a HDD to SSD the difference was night and day. Everything you do pops to life so fast and transfers fast too. You'll never regret buying a SSD. If budget allows, get a SSD and HDD.
