What is the purpose of your build? What is your budget? Do you have predefined preferences to certain companies or products? Are you going to OC your components?

What is the purpose of the system?

Some tweaks for now would be:

SSD: OCZ Agility 3 60GB $135 (15MIR)

Motherboard: GA-990XA-UD3 $150 It's got the bulldozer compatibility and can use SLI if you ever go that route

Graphics card: Your link is broken but I'd go with a reference design 6950 MSI R6950 $280 in order to flash the 6970 bios onto it.

If you plan on putting 2 graphics cards into your system I'd bump the psu to 750W

Looking more it seems this is more gaming and not for video/photo editing, auto CAD and whatnot so I don't think you want a 6 core processor. Pick up a 4 core or wait until bulldozer comes out.
