Hi there! Two weeks ago I started to read THGs intending to choose a new computer by myself. I focused my research on 6 more expensive parts: Processor, MotherBoard, Graphic Card, Hard Disk, Memory and DVDRW. I don't want to spend much more than $800 on this parts.
Here is my preliminary configuration:

Processor: Intel P4 3.0E GHz (HT†/800MHz FSB/90nm/1M L2/FC-PGA478/875P Chipset)
MB: Intel D875PBZ (875P Chipset/Dual Channel DDR/ATX/AGP 8X)
Graphic: ATI RADEON 9600XT (128MB DDR/128-bit/500MHz/VGA+TV+DVI)
HD: Seagate ST380817AS Barracuda (7200.7/SATA NCQ/80 GB/1.5Gb/s)
MEM: Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512 (512MB/400MHz/DDR/PC3200/DIMM 3-3-3/Dual Rank)
DVDRW: LG GSA-4163B DVD+RW

Prices:
Processor = 198
MB = 172
Graphic = 180
HD = 72
Memory = 132 (2x512)
DVDRW = 78
---------------
TOTAL = 832

Please, give me opinions about this configuration.
Is there any part that I should spend more or less money compared with the whole system performance?
Thanks in advance!
Regards from Brazil!

Built by Intel boards do not overclock well, but are stable and solid.
Memory, look at <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-220-032&depa=0" target="_new"> Patriot </A> memory with lower latency about same cost with TCCD chips.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

Thanks for memory tip!
The problem is that I have a limitation regarding brands in my region! Stores here just sell sansung, kingston, nec and infineon. :-(
