Is this cord to low of voltage for the XBOX

Hello my friend just gave me his original xbox and I believe I have a problem when I plug in the power cord the disc drive on it runs fine when the IDE cable isnt plugged into the xbox. But as soon as I plug it into the hard drive as well (all connected hard drive and disc drive) only the hard drive works, is this due to my cable (I dont know about cables and voltage very well so I will post what I see on them at the bottom):
XBOX required: 100 V - 2.1A, 50/60 HZ
What my cable says 7A 125 V
Before when I first started using the cable everything was working fine so I dont know what happened. Thanks in advance.

Also I have checked with 3 other IDE cables they all do this as well.

Do you have the drives configured correctly, as in master and slave?

I have the shortest part in the Motherboard, the small middle part in the disc drive, and the longest part in the hard drive, sorta like this http://hacknmod.com/wp-content/old/pics/293-3.jpg
