Is this CPU upgrade worth it

OK so if this is a completely ridiculous question I'm sorry. I have little knowledge in the CPU area. So I was thinking of getting a new motherboard and CPU to go with it. Just trying to figure this all out. I have an a8 6500 and was looking at the i5 4590k. Would this upgrade be worth it. From what I can see the a8 isn't much of a difference on paper of course to the i5. I am running a r9 270x and will be soon crossfiring another one if that changes anything.

It would be a big upgrade, and you will need that extra power when you decide to get the second video card. Go for it!
