hi ! i wanna ask that should i get r9 280 non X or GTx 760 With This PC
http://homeshopping.pk/products/HP-ENVY-Phoenix-h9-Local-Price-in-Pakistan.html
I am getting another 8 gb ram so specs would be like this
i5 3470 3.2 ghz quad core
12 gb ddr3 1600 mhz
r9 280 3gb or gtx 760 2gb
1 tb hdd
120 gb ssd
600w psu (38amp +12)
my Main Q;- was that as BF4 recommend 4 gb vram for ulrta high 1080p with aa max so next gen games would even need more than that so there's no point in getting gtx 760 (2GB) does r9 280 have benefit as i will not upgrade for about 4-5 years
i would like to play on 1080p high settings max 2x aa with 50-60 fps

Solution
Even though the 970 is a faster card, the power consumption is slightly lower than the 280. It is also cooler and quieter. 600W will run it with ease.
Salam Bro, in most games at 1080P the 280 will be on average about 15% faster. The 280 also cost less than the 760 so out of those 2 cards I'd say go for the 280.

VRAM makes more difference when you up the resolution, but for 1080P even next gen games won't really need much more than 4GB.

Personally I think if gaming is your main concern then rather than getting an additional 8GB RAM you should invest that cost into a better GPU for your next gen games. If you want more RAM get 4GB instead to make 8GB as past that it really makes no difference for gaming.

Hope this helps.

If you want to play at 1080P high/ultra settings and get 50-60fps then the AMD280/GTX760 would not have allowed that in next gen games. As an example, in BF4 1080P Ultra the GTX760 would get around 45fps, the AMD280 is 10% faster at around 50fps and the GTX970 is about 60% faster than that with around 80fps.

As for bottleneck, I'd say it won't be a concern. Even keeping 4GB RAM the 970 will give you significantly more fps than getting more RAM with a 280/760, and would still be consistently over 60fps at 1080P

So the GTX 970 will be a good choice for the next few years at 1080P and should max out everything at over 60fps. Obviously though it will cost more now, but if you can save on RAM than it is the best choice.
