Hi. My computer monitor fell with the screen side down into a small pen drive ...like not a big fall just flat into the table but there was a pen drive there and it got some damage as you can see in the picture...it shows whites and all colors in that spot , but black shows green and you can notice a sort of a "stain" on the area ... Is this fixable ? is it dead pixels and i need to buy a new monitor?

On the first picture as its bright you dont see it but on a black or darker image you can tell that tiny green dot there...

Ok so after i make some pressure on the spot it kidna fades away but not permanently ...is this fiable with this method or using pressure maybe? afraid to ruin it...any help welcomed don't know anyting about displays! thanks!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

The green dot you speak of looks more like s green smudge, that's a damaged panel. You might want to contact Asus and see if they'll repair/replace the unit for you after you've explained to them what had happened.

It won't magically go away, nor will it go with a driver reinstall, if that's what you were thinking.

So but why it disappears if i apply pressure ? Anyone know ?

It's either damage to one of the layers of the panel, or damage to the frame which holds the panel. Sometimes the frame or internals can twist, bend or squeeze the panel causing discolorations like you are seeing, and applying pressure temporarily counteracts it.

Either way, the panel or the panel's mounting inside the monitor frame is probably damaged. Best to try and get it repaired by RMA.

Hey thanks for your reply ...so i can sell it as fixable ! Cheers!

Not sure if would "sell it as fixable" unless I check it with a qualified repair person or center and they say it IS fixable.

On another note, I've seen a few monitors with similar issues and after a while the dot is less visible or sometimes it just went away. I would have it looked at and repaired if possible though.

I doubt the damage is fixable at any reasonable cost.
A replaced panel will cost as much as a whole new unit.
And, I would not try to sell it as anything else but damaged with full disclosure.

In time, with a bit of rubbing, the damage may well diminish.
You may well get used to the blemish; it does not look too bad to me.

If it really bothers you, buy another monitor and keep the old unit as a side monitor.

Yes I actually forgot to mention some gentle rubbing helps make the spot less visible in panels like this and sometimes it just gets to a point that if you show the monitor to somebody who doesn't know wher the damage is they won't be able to spot it.

Again I repeat, I wouldn't "sell as fixable", as said above too, I'd tell the buyer aboout the damage and if they're OK with it at a lower price (than a healhty used unit) I'd sell it.
