wow nevermind I forgot lots of stuff, back to bed for me.

like i said, im new to this so could you tell me why one 970 wont work? it has 2 DVI and one HDMI and i waas told that 3 screens will work if i have those 3 things

Tried my best to cut every corner I could while still giving you a better CPU & GPU. To lower the cost a bit choosing a less expensive case is always an option.

Evan, you don't have to SLI, I included a GTX 980 not a 970, I also included a much more powerful processor however no SLI and no fancy features you'd expect from a more expensive motherboard. The Xeon can't be overclocked anyways so this is the lowest I was able to go, not counting case because you can definitely drop below $1200 by choosing a less expensive case, though 8 dollars above budget isn't bad is it? Correct me if I'm wrong!

And to answer your question, yes 2 DVI and 1 HDMI will work with 3 monitors at once! :) I'm doing 2 monitors and HDMI to TV on a GTX 660 so I don't see why it wouldn't, is there something I missed?

yea give or take 50 bucks is alright

how about this? i went 2 way SLI with 960s, but stayed with the OCZ SSD to stay in my price range, a cheaper case, and better motherboard (i think). If you guys think that Suzuki's idea was better plz tell me so i know before i buy everything.

Either go for 980 or wait for the r300 from AMD, not to mentin the r9 290x's are quite cheap atm, have you thought of those?

i wont use AMD stuff. I dont know why but i just wont. sorry. so ur saying go 980 instead of 2x 960s?

yep

You can use one card to drive 3 displays, if you don't do anything intensive on them all at once
If you try to run a game using all 3 monitors at once, the frame rates will be horrid. It's why I linked the articles showing the benchmarks of games tried with that setup.

thanks for clearing it all up. And i will not be use all 3 monitors at once for gaming. one would be for everyday things and video stuff for youtube, one would be for PC gaming, and the other would be for xbox/ ps.

In that situation, you will be fine. I had done similar during my WoW days with one screen playing wow in a maximized window and another screen driving a PC TV tuner card
