I have a Dell Optiplex 9020 minitower and I'd like to install a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 into it. Is the PC compatible with this GPU in terms off power requirements and space?

Solution
Yes it is. I just added a GTX 1050 Ti to a Optiplex 9020 MT (i7-4770) on the stock PSU. In fact, I'd recommend the Ti over the 1050. Just be sure to get one that doesn't require a 6-pin. Most don't.
I decided to look at a few 1050 Ti's. Would the EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SC card be compatible with the motherboard?

Yes it would, as would any PCIe x16 gfx card. The only limitation you have is the size of your PSU.

Sorry, I'm a novice with this type of stuff. Why would the PSU be a limitation?

Your power supply (PSU) is what determines the system's ability to handle heavy loads like that presented by a discrete video card. The 1050 Ti is not a demanding card, but it should have a good quality 300W for best performance.
My statement was meant more for others that may be reading this post than you. I already know your PSU is sufficient for the GTX 1050/1050 Ti.

Thanks for the info. Makes it easier to know what to consider when I eventually start my own build. Thanks for the help.
