Is this GPU worth it for 820 euros?

I want to ask if MSI GeForce GTX1080 8GB Gaming X is worth it for 820 euros.

No. GPU prices are inflated due to a combination of factors (mining, memory prices, supply/demand), driving the prices up.

The revised MSRP for the card dropped to about $500 USD / 400EUR. There's a new markup (+$30 or $50) in raw materials for board partners, so the MSRP will rise too.

Ultimately, the 1080 is a great card in the $550 / 450EUR range, but at 200% of that price... it's a very, very poor value for money.

A 1050TI is about the "best" card you can generally find in the MSRP range.

Really depends what you're upgrading from.

The used market can be an option too - 780TI (roughly 1060 3GB performance) or a 980TI (roughly 1070 performance, depending on the model) can be found pretty frequently for 'reasonable' (not great!) prices.

Rarely any warranty on the used market though, of course - but can be a viable option.
