Is this hard drive noise normal?

Lately, my 3-year-old mechanical hard drive has been louder than it usually is.

You may need to turn up your speakers to fully hear it.

Nothing is running in the background that would cause the activity. I turned off indexing.

It doesn't make this noise all the time, but I'm hearing it more often. It's kind of annoying to hear, on top of troublesome.

Any thoughts? It's a Windows 10 system, a Dell Inspiron 3847.

Hello ecach1031431. Our recommendation is to back up your information and contact the system manufacture. Any noise coming from a HDD is reason for concern. As a recommendation, it is a good idea to have 3 copies of your important data backed up and consider having one copy off site in case of a disaster. Best of luck.
