I'm looking to buy a used gigabit switch. I currently have a wimpy 8 port 10/100 switch connecting two servers, two PCs, and a laptop. I find that I need speeds higher than 10/100, and I want more than 8 ports for future proofing. This is all part of a hobby Youtube channel that I do with a friend, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on it.
I need to know if I HAVE to do configuration on managed switches, as it needs to be plug and play because I swap stuff around a LOT. I don't want to shell out 75 bucks for this, and I have been looking at these on eBay, and am wondering about them. I can't seem to find a lot of useful info by googling them.
