Quick answer, yes.

You may or may not be able to keep the 1tb drive in it though. I would call their tech support and ask if it has 2 sata ports. It may only take one sata and have an msata as a secondary expansion.

Yes, you will probably lose the 1T. Buy something like this, put your drive in there and use it for more storage or for backup.
