Hi everyone!

I wish to get a gaming pc. I would like to be able to play Black Flag, Watch Dogs, Dark Souls 2, Civ 5 and Total War Series with maximum settings. I'm a total newb!

1- If I get: i7-4770, 8 Gb 1600Mhz and GTX770, will this system be weak, sufficient or overkill?

2- If I don'y mind about loading times, is it necessary to get an SSD?

3- What's the average/fair cost for 120Gb SSD?

Thank you!

Mike

I would save a little more for a 4770k OR you could drop down to an i5-4670k and be fine (unless you know you have no plans to overclock, then the 4770 is fine :) ). Keep the gtx770. I personally believe that an SSD is not necessary. In building my computer I decided not to get an SSD and spend the extra ~$100 or so on the gpu. But to watch for deals on SSDs, constantly check newegg or tigerdirect. They usually have sales of SSDs that are 120gb that drop below $100. But also keep in mind, you can always add an SSD easily after a couple months once you have some extra money to spend.

You're not really comfortable with OCing, are you? That's OK. Get the i7-4770.

People who do OC may get the same performance as you with a cheaper i5-4670k, but they'll have to spend time learning to overclock and adjusting settings repeatedly and testing with Prime95, etc. You might as well pay the extra $100 and get the same results the easier way.

Well, like I said, I'll use this computer to browse, use Microsoft Office (Word mostly) and game. I just want, if possible, to run the games I want with maximum settings! That's it! I'm not using any fancy programs. Really appreciate your help everyone! I know almost nothing in this field and I don't want to spend that much money if I don't get what I want. Tks!
