Is this optical drive compatible?

Is the ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer compatible with the Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H motherboard?

I couldn't really find any answer online, so I really need help on this one!

As long as they both support a sata connection they'll work (or if they're really old and both have IDE) They'll almost definitely have one if they're not really old. The sata Socket looks a bit like an hdmi socket with a small L inside

The optical drive has SATA 3GB/s while the motherboard has SATA 6GB/s, I assume that means they work?

You are good, the dvd uses sata as does the motherboard.
