Is this PC build any good?

I would like to build a PC that will run things pretty well.

First I'd like to ask if it would be possible to use an old HP Pavillion (a1355 specifically) case from 2006 and install an Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX Motherboard in it. The case has four expansion slots so I figured it was Micro ATX. Also I think that the cable that plugs into the motherboard for the power button, hard drive light and so on is different to the type that modern motherboards use. Would there be an adapter for that?
Here's the case:

Last thing I wanted to ask is if this is a good build:
http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/NMGgK8
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor - $129.00 @ CPL Online
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard - $79 @ CPL Online
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory - $103 @ IJK
Seagate Momentus Thin 500GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive - $59 @ IJK (already own this)
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card - $259.00 @ PLE Computers
Silverstone PS08B (Black) MicroATX Mid Tower Case - $42.00 @ CPL Online
Silverstone Strider Essential 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply - $55 @ IJK

I already have a copy of Windows 7 Professional, I already own the hard drive and I put the case in the build just in case (excuse the pun) I need it.
I do understand I will need to purchase a 3.5 to 2.5mm hard drive adapter.

I don't need an SSD, an Optical Drive or a Wireless Adapter since I used Wired Internet.
If I need to buy this case I know that the onboard motherboard front panel connectors are USB 2.0 but the case has 3.0 ports so would something like this work?

Thanks, sorry about all of the questions.

I'm not spending anymore money on this as it's already over my budget.

think found it the HP Pavilion a1000 looks like it does open from left so unlike some dells and gateways it doesnt have the reveresed motherboard. However doesnt look like it has a bunch of room though especially with a decent sized graphics card. Things might get a little to hot in there. So i would go with a new case and yes you would need that part from amazon to use the usb ports on the front of the case.

Are you 100% sure of that? :??:
I've just taken everything out of the case including the SD Card reader and the microphone, speaker and 1394 jacks on the front so would that help with air flow?

Big noob here!

Honestly i dont know I dont have the case in front of me and have never seen it in person however from several diffrent pictures it does look like it would not have that great of airflow.

Also if I was to use this case how could I use the older type of power/drive light on a newer mobo?
Apparently Mantle is a load of shit. Come on, DX12 shouldn't be too far away.
I'm watching this video at the moment to see how much of a difference there is.

I think Mantle is dead. DirectX and OpenGL are the way to go.

Yeah, I think you're right. Shit, I accidentally selected it again as best answer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qim-asQrT_Y skip to 7:20 thats when starts the benchmarks. and if he used mantle in bf4 would have been 30-40 more fps.

That's just BF4, if you just play BF4 then sure buy a console or a AMD based PC. But what about every other game available on Steam and Uplay.

Yes but in every other games in the video 280x won. And since they r same price why not get that 5-10 fps increase for FREEEEEEE.

Exactly, it's not just BF4...
I'm thinking about the XFX Double Dispassion R9 280 at the moment as the comparison showed that there was a slight difference in performance and temps. I prefer the looks of the XFX anyway. When you say 30-40 more frames per second I know that's not true.
But then you have the clock speeds of the cards, 1100Mhz compared to over 1300Mhz is quite a big difference but that's overclocked. Stock there's only 100Mhz difference.

Because graphics cards that run at 85 degrees Celsius under load are not normal to me by any means.

In video he got the 280 to max overclock without touching the fan speed and only hit 70c the 760 at max overclock hit 81c and after turning fan to 100% got to 71c still higher than 280 at stock fan speed.

I just read that while playing most games the R9 280 gets around 75 degrees celcius.
I'd run the fans at 100% always so I can have a cooler running system. Now as I keep saying, how would I use my HP case on a new motherboard? The connector is different for the power button and all of that. It's one thing that you plug in, not two or one small cables to plug into a certain plug. Maybe it does go in as one thing somehow, I'm not sure at all.
