Hello, I have had this issue for quite some time now.

When playing games, my gpu starts to buzz, and while moving the mouse/idle there is this horrible high pitched sound in my headphones.

I recently just got the EVGA Supernova 650 g2 expecting it to fix my issue. It did not and I am now really pissed off.

Specs:

gigabyte z77p-d3
gtx 960
i3-3220
EVGA Supernova 650 g2

Well the noise coming from the GPU is called "coil whine" or "inductor noise" what gtx 960 do you have I know some have problems with coil whine. Its annoying but most of the time it is harmless. Do you have a wireless mouse and headphones? the noise in your headphones could be caused by EMI.

My mouse is wired and so are my headphones.

My gtx 960 is the Asus Mini OC Version, Ive also rma'd it once, no change.

Are your headphones plugged into a front panel port on your case? If so try plugging them into the back. If that doesn't work I have no idea what would cause a wired mouse to interfere with a wired headset unless you stripped the wires and wrapped them together, my only guess is that it has something to do with the motherboard but I have no idea what, maybe something is wrong with onboard sound card. There is nothing you can do about coil whine besides replacing the card but a lot of times the replacement will do it as well like you have experienced.

I have tried all of the different ports with no effect. It seems to be getting better as time goes on. I will upgrading my cpu anyway, but until then, I will just give up. Its pissing me off so much!
