Is this PSU good for overclocking my GPU?

Hey everyone,
Ive got a CoolerMaster B500 ver.2 PSU and a MSI GTX 970 twinfrozr GPU.
I wanted to overclock my GPU abit, but a friend told me my PSU is less than ideal for that. Is he right? Any help is much appreciated.

My CPU is Intel Core i5 6600 3300 MHz if it has any impact.

I don't know too much about the PSU but the V2 is made by Channel Well Technology who manufacture some of the best PSUs, all the way through to some pretty poor units. Looks like the only difference between the V1 & V2 of the B500 were an 80+ rating. http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page364.htm

Given it's only modified for an efficiency rating, I would hazard a guess that it's probably far from great quality.

If it were me, I'd avoid any form of additional stress on the PSU and would replace if I were planning to OC.
That being said though, CWT's PSUs tend to have at least basic protection (as in, they don't manufacture outright 'junk') so, if it's not stable enough to handle OC's, the worst that should* happen would be...

*Just note I said "should", and take no responsibility should anything worse happen.

I go by this list as a guide. As the above poster (Barty1884) stated, Channel Well PSUs are OK quality; not great, but OK.

I like to add that overclocking a GPU is not a good idea. Usually, the factory optimizes GPUs, and besides, GPUs in general tend to run hot. Why add to the heat load? Overclocking a GPU does not yield significant results; ditto for overclocking RAM.
