The PSU is decent and has enough wattage. I haven't used that exact adapter but have done a 24 to 12 pin years back and had no issues. Just be certain you have the correct 24 to 12 pin adapter as some have pins in non standard locations. If that one linked above isn't exactly right that moddify site makes it easy to find the right one.

Since its Lenovo I think its likely a 24 to 14 pin adapter you need not a 24 to 12 pin. You may want to verify the pin counts on the motherboard.
