Currently, i have these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428&cm_re=8_gb_ram_sticks-_-20-231-428-_-Product, and i am having some issues with games and browsers being open and running out of ram. So i am looking to buy 16 gbs. I am interested in buying these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104461&cm_re=16_gb_ram_sticks-_-20-104-461-_-Product, but i dont know much about ram. I see that my old ram has a lower cas latency but a lower speed as well, and looking at tables it doesnt look like id be getting any better speeds by buying them. Any opinions? I dont want to spend to much money, but would like some ram thats at least moderately better than what i am using now, any suggestions are appreciated :)

I have 8GB of RAM in my main system and have never run into a problem with any games or multitasking. You sure that's your problem?

As far as RAM speed goes it depends on your motherboard and processor but you will see no performance gain in gaming with most setups unless you have an AMD APU. Some memory intensive apps will gain upwards of 30% in a Haswell build going from DDR3 1600 to DDR3 2400 but gaming is not going to show more than a percent or two.

Now if you really are running out due to video rendering or photo editing then adding another 8GB will certainly help. No games will do better with 16GB vs 8GB though at least that I am aware of.

Well, I am playing heroes of the storm all the time, with google chrome open with probably like 10 tabs, many hardware and temp monitoring programs, nvidia shadowplay, teamspeak, skype, geforce experince, bluestacks.....etc. Just a lot of programs that i like to keep open, and heroes of the storm will shut down due to low memory sometimes. When i check, its normally near 7.8 gb, so i can see how it can go over and cause my game to close. So im just looking for 16 gbs that is decently better in speed and timing.

Well, when my heroes of the storm force closes, it always says that i am low on memory. Though it doesnt happen on any other games. So either Heroes of the storm is just really memory demanding or my rams dying? When i look at how much im using during all this, it is very close to 8.

You can probably save yourself some money by shutting Google Chrome. Its a complete memory hog and probably 80% of your problem, especially with 10 tabs open.

That game has very low system requirements so i doubt that's it.

Yep, I hate Chrome not only because google tracks everything you do with it but I've always found it poorly optimized. Firefox with adblock plus and ghostery is the way to go :)
